Does anyone know of a website where I could find out my heritage without paying or subscribing?

My father up and changed our heritage when he got remarried, while I have no problem with being part of our crazy Armenian family I would really like to know where my ancestors are from. But every time I seem to be getting somewhere I end up being told to give a credit card number or my email and name. All I want is answers, not fees and spam mail.
