Is it possible to stay on your spouses medical insurance after you divorce?

A friend of mine divorced and said it was written into her divorce that she can remain on her x-husbands medical insurance until she remarries. I don't see how that is possible? What if HE remarries? Also, what about the company that funds it? Do you legally have to continue to pay the insurance as though they're still married? Or does that become his expense?
